Thank you, Judy, for sharing your South African experiences. When you consider what the healthcare issues are for people living in Kwazulu Natal it really put things in perspective. At a national level multiple sclerosis is not even on the radar of the politicians in South Africa. This is why we have to rely on South African neurologists to do what they can for their patients with very limited resources.
On the other hand, I was recently contacted by a person with MS from an Eastern European country who had taken things into his own hands and created his own formulation of dimethyl fumarate and had been on it for 2 years and was doing well. This is an example of people with the disease taking things into their own hands.
